What to expect at your first appointment with Dr. Jansen

• Prior to the consultation, you will fill out an initial questionnaire to give Dr. Jansen and his staff some background information on your condition along with your medical history. 

• Dr. Jansen will ask questions regarding your condition and symptoms.  These can include the duration of the pain or if there are any circumstances/activities which make it better or worse.  Additionally, you may be asked questions regarding your past medical history and current treatments you might be undergoing. 

• A thorough examination will be performed by Dr. Jansen.  This will include a general health exam including blood pressure, pulse rate, respirations, and specific orthopedic and neurologic testing to the areas of complaint.  These can include active and passive range of motion, muscle strength, muscle activation, walking pattern, and neurologic intergrity.
• if necessary,        laboratory and radiological studies may be ordered. These include, but are not limited to; CBC and Chem Panel, X-Ray, Ultrasound, MRI, and CT scans.

• Your health history, examination, and diagnostic studies will all be utilized to diagnose your condition.  After deciding whether or not chiropractic care will benefit you, Dr. Jansen will create an individualized treatment protocol which could include chiropractic manipulations, physical therapeutic modalities, manual therapy, acupuncture, and/or therapeutic exercises.

• You and Dr. Jansen will decide together if treatment will begin that day or at the next visit.  Dr. Jansen is open to questions at anytime during the process.  Do not hesitate to ask for clarification if you are unclear.  Dr. Jansen enjoys working with his patients!
